    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL

    1. Passes the Statute, upon proposal made by the University Senate;
    2. Adopts and passes the Quality Assurance Strategy, upon proposal made by the University Rector;
    3. Defines the main tasks and goals of the University;
    4. Appoints and dismisses the University Rector and appoints Vice-rectors upon Rector’s proposal;
    5. Decides on matters relating to admittance of new members and founders to the University, as well as their dismissal, i.e. termination of membership, upon proposal made by The Founders’ Council;
    6. Brings policy documents which determine membership conditions and regulate the whole process relating to admittance of new members to the University;
    7. Resolves appeals lodged against the first-instance decisions of the Rector;
    8. Adopts the financial report, upon proposal made by the Senate;
    9. Adopts the annual report and annual budget, upon proposal made by the Senate;
    10. Determines membership fee for faculties within university, upon proposal made by the Senate;
    11. Approves the allocation of financial resources;
    12. Adopts the Investment allocation plan, upon proposal made by the Senate;
    13. Gives approval for the decisions relating to university asset management;
    14. Decides on matters relating to awarding honorary doctorates;
    15. Establishes working groups for tasks within the scope of its jurisdiction;
    16. Decides on the amount of tuition fee, upon proposal made by the University Senate;
    17. Decides on matters relating to all changes of status, name and/or headquarters’ address of constituent faculties within University, with the consent of the Founders’ Council;
    18. Gives consent on matters relating to the statutes of individual faculties within University;
    19. Reports to the Founders’ Council on matters relating to its operation;
    20. Passes Student Disciplinary Regulations;
    21. Passes Rules of Procedure for the work of University Council;
    22. Performs other duties and tasks in accordance with the Law and Statute.

    Duties and Responsibilities of the University Senate

    1. Gives approval for doctoral thesis proposals and writes reports and evaluations;
    2. Appoints teachers to academic titles;
    3. Decides on matters relating to diplomas and degrees from foreign higher education institutions, recognizes them and evaluates study programs;
    4. Discusses and prepares decisions in its jurisdiction for meetings of University Council;
    5. Gives proposals for openings of new university centers to the University Council;
    6. Passes the Standards and procedures for quality assurance, upon proposal of the Commission for monitoring, development and quality assurance of study programs, teaching and work procedures;
    7. Discusses the proposal of University Statute;
    8. Gives a proposal relating to the amount of tuition fee to the University Council;
    9. Adopts the program of scientific and research work provided by the University as an institution;
    10. Brings decisions on study programs of all academic levels;
    11. Brings the decision to open the enrollment period and publicize call for applications;
    12. Passes general acts and policy documents within its jurisdiction, in accordance with the Law;
    13. Passes Rules of Procedure for the work of University Senate;
    14. Sets up a special team of experts - Commission for monitoring, development and quality assurance of study programs, teaching and work procedures;
    15. Adopts the Code of professional conduct;
    16. Performs other duties and tasks in accordance with the Law and Statute.

  • Student Parliament

    University Student Parliament is a body through which students exercise their rights and protect their interests while at University. Members of the University Student Parliament are elected by Student Parliaments from each constituent faculty within the University.

    Members Of The Student Parliament

    Student Parliament from each faculty elects and appoints student representatives for the University Student parliament, in accordance with the following quotas:

    • three students are appointed from the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad;
    • three students are appointed from the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management in Novi Sad;
    • three students are appointed from the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Pančevo;
    • two students are appointed from the Faculty of Applied Management, Economics and Finance in Belgrade;
    • two students are appointed from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Novi Sad;
    • two students are appointed from the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Belgrade;
    • two students are appointed from the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies, Novi Sad;
    • two students are appointed from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Belgrade.

    The mandate for members of University Student Parliament lasts two years.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STUDENT PARLIAMENT

    1. Passes general policy documents relating to its operation;
    2. Appoints and dismisses President and Deputy President;
    3. Appoints and dismisses Student Vice-Rector;
    4. Appoints and dismisses student representatives in the University Senate;
    5. Adopts the annual working plan and schedule of activities;
    6. Incorporates and harmonizes the work of student parliaments from all constituent faculties within the University;
    7. Works on the development of international cooperation and cooperation between universities for students;
    8. Discusses issues related to quality assurance in the domain of teaching, study programs and studying efficiency, fosters student research and scientific work, protects student rights and many others;
    9. Performs other tasks and duties in accordance with the Law and University Statute.

Collaboration with industry and international cooperation are two very important factors in the development of the University and its faculties. Therefore, the Center for International Cooperation has been established at the level of the University Business Academy. Its main objective is internationalization: realization of joint projects and mobility of students and teaching staff.

A large number of cooperation agreements have already been signed with higher education institutions from other European countries. In this way, University Business Academy in Novi Sad achieves international recognition for education and scientific work and its diplomas are easily comparable and recognized across borders.
