Duties and Responsibilities of the University Senate

  1. Gives approval for doctoral thesis proposals and writes reports and evaluations;
  2. Appoints teachers to academic titles;
  3. Decides on matters relating to diplomas and degrees from foreign higher education institutions, recognizes them and evaluates study programs;
  4. Discusses and prepares decisions in its jurisdiction for meetings of University Council;
  5. Gives proposals for openings of new university centers to the University Council;
  6. Passes the Standards and procedures for quality assurance, upon proposal of the Commission for monitoring, development and quality assurance of study programs, teaching and work procedures;
  7. Discusses the proposal of University Statute;
  8. Gives a proposal relating to the amount of tuition fee to the University Council;
  9. Adopts the program of scientific and research work provided by the University as an institution;
  10. Brings decisions on study programs of all academic levels;
  11. Brings the decision to open the enrollment period and publicize call for applications;
  12. Passes general acts and policy documents within its jurisdiction, in accordance with the Law;
  13. Passes Rules of Procedure for the work of University Senate;
  14. Sets up a special team of experts - Commission for monitoring, development and quality assurance of study programs, teaching and work procedures;
  15. Adopts the Code of professional conduct;
  16. Performs other duties and tasks in accordance with the Law and Statute.

The strategic orientation of the University

"Our University’s future development largely depends on scientific and research work. We have good potentials for that at our University, and this should only be further encouraged and guided towards scientific recognition both in the Republic of Serbia and in the wider Southeast Europe area. International projects represent the backbone of our future work and our goal is to put a special focus on applying to international projects, such as: HORIZON EUROPE, COST, ERASMUS, IPA, INTERREG, SCOPES etc.

In our opinion, the University Business Academy must be strongly oriented towards comprehensive internationalization, by which we primarily imply membership in the YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe) partnership. YUFE is the best-rated University network of the European Commission's largest pilot project (Erasmus+), known as the European University Initiative. Such memberships include strategic cooperation in all areas, with an emphasis on open programs for students, quality systems based on attractive curricula, innovative methods and a digitally transformed learning process."
