DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL

Passes the Statute, upon proposal made by the University Senate;
Adopts and passes the Quality Assurance Strategy, upon proposal made by the University Rector;
Defines the main tasks and goals of the University;
Appoints and dismisses the University Rector and appoints Vice-rectors upon Rector’s proposal;
Decides on matters relating to admittance of new members and founders to the University, as well as their dismissal, i.e. termination of membership, upon proposal made by The Founders’ Council;
Brings policy documents which determine membership conditions and regulate the whole process relating to admittance of new members to the University;
Resolves appeals lodged against the first-instance decisions of the Rector;
Adopts the financial report, upon proposal made by the Senate;
Adopts the annual report and annual budget, upon proposal made by the Senate;
Determines membership fee for faculties within university, upon proposal made by the Senate;
Approves the allocation of financial resources;
Adopts the Investment allocation plan, upon proposal made by the Senate;
Gives approval for the decisions relating to university asset management;
Decides on matters relating to awarding honorary doctorates;
Establishes working groups for tasks within the scope of its jurisdiction;
Decides on the amount of tuition fee, upon proposal made by the University Senate;
Decides on matters relating to all changes of status, name and/or headquarters’ address of constituent faculties within University, with the consent of the Founders’ Council;
Gives consent on matters relating to the statutes of individual faculties within University;
Reports to the Founders’ Council on matters relating to its operation;
Passes Student Disciplinary Regulations;
Passes Rules of Procedure for the work of University Council;
Performs other duties and tasks in accordance with the Law and Statute.
