UNIVERSITY BUSINESS ACADEMY BECOMES PART OF A EUROPEAN INITIATIVE FOR ADVANCING CYBERSECURITY – THE INNOVACYBRIDGE PROJECT
The University Business Academy in Novi Sad proudly announces its participation as a partner in the prestigious European project InnovaCyBridge – one of 47 projects supported under the 2024 Open Call (Cohort 4) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Higher Education Initiative. This strategically important project focuses on strengthening innovation and educational capacities in the field of cybersecurity by enhancing study programs, developing digital skills, and fostering stronger cooperation between the academic, business, and technology sectors.
InnovaCyBridge is a pan-European initiative that transforms the way cybersecurity is taught and applied. The project introduces modern methods based on the CIBOK/CyBOK framework, entrepreneurial and experiential learning, an interdisciplinary approach, and practice-oriented skill development. As part of the project, innovative modules and training programs will be developed in areas such as AI in security, digital forensics, cryptography, e-security, cloud security, and strategic cybersecurity management. These programs will strengthen the competencies of students, faculty, and young professionals, offering knowledge aligned with the current needs of the European labor market.
The project is coordinated by Aston University (United Kingdom) and implemented in cooperation with the Hellenic Mediterranean University (Greece), Deep Tech Foundry/A8 (Malta), Twinnovation (Israel), the Israel Innovation Institute, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), and the University Business Academy in Novi Sad as the representative of Serbia. This international partnership provides a strong framework for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and the latest trends in digital security and innovation.
The project is implemented with the support of EIT Urban Mobility, further emphasizing the importance of building a safe, inclusive, and technologically advanced educational ecosystem. Special focus is placed on strengthening capacities in the so-called Widening region, which includes Serbia, with the aim of enhancing digital resilience, innovation potential, and competitiveness at the European level.
In the coming period, the University Business Academy will carry out a range of activities, including open calls for training, specialized workshops, programs aimed at developing digital competences, and initiatives to foster cooperation among students, faculty, researchers, and industry stakeholders. The InnovaCyBridge initiative brings new opportunities for improving education quality and supports the creation of a safer, more innovative, and internationally connected academic environment.
