STUDY VISIT TO MONDRAGON UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE DUALBA PROJECT
As part of the project “Strengthening Capacities for the Implementation of Dual Education in the Higher Education System of Albania – DUALBA,” a study visit was organized by Mondragon University in Bilbao from 23 to 25 September 2025. Following an introductory presentation of the concept of dual higher education in the Basque Country, a round table was held where students, company mentors, and faculty staff in the fields of business and administration shared their experiences regarding the success factors and challenges of dual education.
On the second day, 24 September, a meeting of the Steering Committee was held, followed by a presentation on the Mondragon cooperative model. On the final day, 25 September, Dr Josu Galarza presented the perspective of Dual Higher Education in engineering, while representatives of UNIBASQ (the Quality Assurance Agency) discussed the legal framework and the quality assurance framework for the dual higher education model.
Representing the project team of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, Prof. Milena Galetin, PhD, and Prof. Marijana Mladenov, PhD took part in the study visit.
DUALBA is a Category 3 Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project aimed at supporting Albania—classified as a third country not participating fully in the Erasmus Program—in its efforts to introduce dual education within its higher education system. The project seeks to address socioeconomic needs and ensure structural improvements and innovation in the higher education sector.
