PATRON SAINT’S DAY AT THE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS ACADEMY
Again this year our university hosted a celebration honoring Saint Sava of Gornji Karlovac as the Patron Saint of University Business Academy.
By the decision of the University Rector, prof. Marko Carić PhD, Saint Sava of Gornji Karlovac was chosen to be the patron of our University. This important day has been celebrated at the University since 2020. The icon of Saint Sava of Gornji Karlovac, displayed in the University's Ceremonial Hall, is the work of the icon painting workshop “Saint Empress Theodora - the Patroness of Icons“, which is part of the Orthodox Monastery of the Resurrection of Christ, while the miniatures are the work of Vladimir Ćetković.
“The establishment of Patron Saint’s Day at the University Business Academy in Novi Sad is a sign of extending the deeply rooted cultural heritage and tradition of our people, but even more importantly - shows the awareness and need for spiritual patronage of those who teach and those being taught at this institution. We prefer to celebrate this special day honoring the Patron Saint of our university with our extended family" – as has been pointed out by the University Rector, prof. Marko Carić.
This year's godfather was prof. Dragan Soleša PhD, University Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management, who welcomed the present guests. Professor Soleša then passed this honorary title on to prof. Srđan Kolaković PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
