20th Anniversary of the University Business Academy

The celebration of the twentieth anniversary since the founding of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad, as the first accredited private university in AP Vojvodina, passed in a festive atmosphere, in the company of numerous associates and friends of the university, as is expected from such an exceptional jubilee. It was a beautiful occasion to remind ourselves of the beginnings and look back at the so-far achievements.

The official part of the program began with the university anthem “Gaudeamus Igitur“ performed by the choir “Sveti Roman Slatkopojac“, directed by the conductor Jevgeniija Kojić. After that, our marketing director, Tamara Krstić, presented a short history of the University Business Academy. The present guests were then greeted by prof. Marijana Dukić Mijatović, Ph.D, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and a full professor at the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad: "I believe and I’m certain that it was not easy to build such a credible institution, to attract and retain good lecturers, create and develop study programs so that they are attractive and give the necessary education and knowledge to young people at the same time, and finally - to justify the trust and maintain a good reputation all these years."

Prof. Marijana Carić, Ph.D., as President of the University Council of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad also used this opportunity to greet the guests: "We are very proud of everything we have done in these twenty years. We have been engaged in all fields of work: from education and science, to cooperation projects with international institutions and universities in the country and abroad. Not only have we managed to establish excellent contacts and cooperation with them, but we are constantly improving and developing them. If we look at the first years of the University Business Academy and the University as it is today, we can notice a big difference. It is not just about the received accreditations, but also some very important figures, such as the number of students, projects, papers cited in SCI list journals and many more. Today, the University Business Academy comprises eight faculties and aims to become a reputable institution in terms of education and research in all five scientific fields, insisting on the personal integrity of each student, teamwork, effective communication, ethical behavior, and all that coupled with a proactive approach when it comes to the necessary occasional modifications of educational programs so as to align them with the current social changes."

Rector of the University, prof. Marko Carić, Ph.D. expressed his gratitude to the present guests who made this significant jubilee of the University Business Academy even more special with their presence. "First of all, we have built the name, identity, brand and image of our University based on a creative and proactive approach. We have been constantly trying to improve our business; to add new activities, anticipate our compatibility with the environment, to connect as successfully as possible with countries in the region in order to build a small, but flexible and efficient system that meets all the requirements of the today’s higher education, scientific and practical work, while at the same time considering and respecting the wishes of our students. From a vast variety of activities, it is really difficult to single out the ones we are most proud of, but we are absolutely sure we did our best to establish and develop international cooperation and good relations with others, individuals and institutions alike."- said prof. Marko Carić.

Prof. Rade Doroslovački, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, also addressed the present guests. Prof. Doroslovački has been a longtime friend and associate of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad and he wholeheartedly congratulated the representatives of the University on the achieved success and exceptional quality of work during their 20 years of existence.

The official part of the program was made even more beautiful and festive with the performance of jazz ballerinas from the Play Dance studio from Novi Sad, as well as with another performance of the choir “Sveti Roman Slatkopojac“, who performed the famous composition by Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac – “Druga rukovet“ (eng. “The Second Garland“). The official part was followed by a cocktail and the celebration continued for hours in a pleasant atmosphere spiced up by the band Betty Boom.
