Novi Sad, «Serbian Athens», as it is called, is the town of a considerable cultural and educational tradition and potential. The very first schools founded within monasteries on the outskirts of the town, date back from 16th and 17th century.

By an outstanding versatility of society’s development and consequent changes that followed them, our country faced the foundation of public, and afterwards, private universities. Business Academy in Novi Sad is the first and so far the only private university in Vojvodina. It was established in 2000, as a union of three faculties: Law Faculty, Foreign Trade Faculty, and Faculty for Education of the Executives. Soon after, Faculty of management, Novi Sad, Faculty for Sport and Tourism, Novi Sad and Faculty of Stomatology, Pancevo have joined the University. Last year Faculty for Management of Small and Medium-sized Companies, Belgrade joined the University as well.

The time ahead of us will be an exciting period in the University’s short history. Just as our industry has introduced necessary standards, wishing to be concurrent with the industries of developed countries of European Union and the World, the high education sector is also involved in the accreditation process, i.e. certifying that an educational institution, whether public (state) or private, maintains suitable standards and criteria in order to justify its existence. Along with provision of high quality for the clients / students, the accreditation will provide their eligibility during the studies with the countries that are signatories of Bologna declaration.

We hope that after the accreditation process is once finished, the lists of the Universities, ranked according to the quality, will be formed, as is the case in many countries in the world every year.

Being the young university, we have made a significant improvement: we started with less than 100 students, back in 2001, the starting year, and nowadays we have over 3000 students enrolled. Significant quality changes have happened within lecturers’ engagement, faculty equipment, and an increase in number of employees, development of contacts with other universities, here and abroad, formation of libraries and reading rooms, as well as computer sciences classrooms. We also plan to considerably enlarge the scope of cooperation on an international level.

I do consider, however, that you will be in ability to make choice among the offered fields of study, according to this short presentation on the site, considering your ambitions, interests and wishes, as well as enjoy other, leisure activities offered, from sports to drama section.
